ELEAGUE to Feature Street Fighter® V Invitational Beginning March 27 Thursday, Feb 23 2017 Next Season of ELEAGUE to Include 32 Elite Street Fighter V Players Competing for Share of $250,000 Purse Live Coverage to be Presented Across TBS & Twitch Turner and IMG’s ELEAGUE will further expand its esports portfolio by staging its first-ever ELEAGUEStreet Fighter® V Invitational. The inaugural event will feature 32 of the world’s best Street Fighter® players competing live from G Fuel ELEAGUE Arena in Atlanta beginning Monday, March 27. Capcom’s Street Fighter V is a wildly popular video game featuring stunning visuals that depict the next generation of World Warriors in unprecedented detail. The game’s exciting and accessible battle mechanics deliver endless fighting fun that both beginners and veterans can enjoy. The ELEAGUE Street Fighter V Invitational will begin with preliminary rounds held March 27-30 in Atlanta with live coverage available via Twitch and a special one-hour recap show airing Friday, March 31, at 10 p.m. ET on TBS. The 32 professional Street Fighter V players will consist of the top 16 competitors based on the 2016 Capcom Pro Tour. An additional 16 players will be selected based on special invitation from Capcom. The 24 Street Fighter V players advancing from the preliminary rounds – six players competing per week – will compete in the regular season. Live competitions will be held Friday, April 7; Friday, April 21; Friday, May 5; and Friday, May 12 with live coverage available on TBS and Twitch at 10 p.m. Expanded coverage from earlier in the day will also be presented live on Twitch. In addition to live event coverage, ELEAGUE will present a Street Fighter V Invitational feature show on Friday, April 28, and a one-hour regular season recap and playoff preview show on May 19 (both days at 10 p.m.).
