The ELEAGUE FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) Champions Cup Stage III Powered by truth® will be ELEAGUE’s second EA SPORTS FIFA major championship, and the first of three it will host this year as part of a robust tournament and content distribution partnership. Live tournament coverage will be available Friday-Sunday, Jan. 17-19, beginning daily at 1 p.m. ET across a wide variety of digital platforms including Twitch, YouTube, B/R Live and ELEAGUE.com . Additionally, fans can earn EA SPORTS FIFA 20 in-game rewards through Twitch Drops by linking their EA SPORTS FIFA 20 and Twitch accounts together while watching live event coverage on that platform. Tournament Format The competition will feature 64 of the world’s elite professional players – 32 each on the PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One consoles – contending for EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series Points, which players use to qualify for the game’s ultimate global championship, the FIFA eWorld Cup 2020. The Stage III Champion will earn 2000 points and the largest share of a $200,000 purse. The tournament will begin with a Swiss-style group stage, followed by single-elimination knockout rounds until one winner for each console is crowned. The console champions will face off in the Grand Final on Sunday, Jan. 19. Commentary Team ELEAGUE’s live tournament coverage will include an expert lineup of commentators led by host Kevin Egan, who returns from the ELEAGUE FIFA 19 Cup. Play-by-play announcer Chris Tunn and reporter Jillian Sakovits will make their ELEAGUE debuts, while studio analysts Mike LaBelle and Chu Morah – along with game analysts Dan Gaskin, Aaron West and play-by-play announcer Scott Cole – will return from previous ELEAGUE FIFA events.
